Your bonuses - self-employed

Note: bonuses are only valid for self-employed riders, not for riders who ride with the P2P-status.

Three types of bonuses are available for riders: the zone bonus, the referral bonus and the activation bonus.
Please note that these are not final and can be modified or even deleted in the short or longer term.
Stay up to date by visiting our Bonus page.

Zone Bonus

The zone bonus is set up to ensure that each rider, in his delivery zone, receives more money when he delivers a certain number of orders during a given period (see the zone bonus table).
This bonus depends on the zone of the restaurant and on the number of orders you take in this zone. We strongly advise you to take a look at the zone maps to get a better idea of the boundaries of the zones in your city.
This bonus is closely monitored by the Ops team and can be readjusted if necessary.

Below is a summary of this bonus:

In this context, ‘zone’ is the restaurant’s zone that is taken into account, not the customer or log in zone.

Your orders are calculated within each billing period. As a consequence, you only have 2 weeks in order to reach the amount of orders required by the table below. This means that the amount of orders you reached refreshes at each new payment period.

You must stick to the billing periods and not your own direct transfer claims.

Yes, but only once. Take the example of Waterloo:

‘Yes’
If you reach 10 orders, you are entitled to 75 euro. If you complete an additional 15 order (your total is then at least 25 orders), you are entitled to an extra 125 euro. You can get up to 200 euro bonus per zone for a billing period.

‘Only once’
Once you have reached a 200 euro zone bonus in Waterloo, it is not possible to increase this bonus during the same billing period. Of course you can continue to ride without getting the bonus.

The amount of zone bonuses depend on the average number of orders in the zone.

Yes. If the average number of orders in your zone changes, Deliveroo could adjust or delete the bonus. Latest changes and conditions you can find on the Roocommunity website.

The bonus will apply for the zone in which you took the most orders. If you have token a majority of orders in a non-bonus zone, you will not receive a bonus. In this context, ‘zone’ is the restaurant’s zone that is taken into account, not the customer or log in zone. There are special regulations for the cities of Brussels and Antwerp.

You are eligible for this bonus once every every 2 weeks when your billing period refreshes. The billing periods are fixed in advance and you can see them on the links below. These are the billing periods you must stick to and not your own direct transfer claims.

Zone bonus in Antwerp or Brussels

The cities Brussels and Antwerp function as a CLUSTER. As a result, the zone bonus works differently for these zones.

A cluster is a set of zones put together. We have two clusters: one in Brussels and the other in Antwerp. More information about the cluster here.

Per billing period, it is not possible to earn the bonus of several zones of a cluster. Per billing period, you can only get one maximum bonus.

As you know, you have to reach the number of orders as indicated in the table. But as long as the majority of the orders are taken in the zone for which you want the bonus, you will have the bonus, even if you have taken a minority of orders in other zones of the cluster.

For example: If you took 20 orders in BWO and 10 orders in other zones in the cluster, you will be eligible for the BWO zone bonus for 30 deliveries.

Zone bonuses in Antwerp are cumulative. For example, if you complete 20 orders in ANC, and 10 in ABC, you remain eligible for the ABC bonus. You can also get AWI and ABC bonuses for the same billing period.

The restaurant zone is not shown in the app. For now, the safest way to find out is to go back to the zone maps.
The restaurant zone is not important in itself, unless you want a specific zone bonus.

Referral Bonus

The Referral Bonus allows you to make money when you refer a friend to register as a new rider. To receive the bonus, your friend must complete a number of orders in a specified time (you can check it out in the table below). You will both receive your bonus one month after completing the last order that was required. Do not hesitate to consult the General Conditions.

The referral bonus is no longer applied since April 1, 2019. When it is reinstated, we will inform you on this page, do not hesitate to take a look at it from time to time.

To refer a friend, make sure to follow the following steps correctly:

  • Open your Rider app
  • In the menu, click on “Referral”
  • Share the code with your friend by copying the link

The link will look like this: https://roo.it/MO123456. Make sure your friend clicks on the link that you sent him. He/she will be redirected to the registration page and your referral code field will be automatically filled in.

Warning:

  • If your friend does not click on the link, the input field will not be filled automatically with your referral code;
  • The link is not a referral code. If your friend uses the link instead of the code, it will not work;
  • Your friend must verify that your referral code has been entered correctly in the “Referral Code” field. Your code consists of the first two letters of your first name, followed by your Rider ID. For example, if your name is John and your Rider ID is 123456, your referral code is JO123456.
