Increasing flexibility for riders in Ghent, Liege and Charleroi
Since we first launched Deliveroo in Belgium in 2015, we’ve been listening carefully to your thoughts on how we can improve working with Deliveroo. And one of biggest pieces of feedback has been that you want even more freedom when it comes to choosing when you work.
To make this possible, we’re opening up Liege, Charleroi and Ghent to Free Login.
From 28/02/2020, all zones in these cities will be opened up to Free Login. Just log in when you want to work and begin accepting orders. There’s no need to book sessions in the Planner, although you can use the Planner to see where there will be fee boosts in advance and to check zone opening and closing hours.
The best times to ride in free login?
To make the most of free login it’s important to know when you’re most likely to earn the most fees. You can maximise your earnings by riding during our busiest times – Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7pm – 9pm. Lunch and dinner times on weekdays are also when we see the most orders placed on most days.
Accepting and completing orders during these busy times helps us to deliver a great service to our customers, and lets us know if we have the right number of riders on the road. Here’s a handy table to show when the best times to work are:
What happens to your statistics ?
Your booking time will be frozen based on your statistics on your last 14 days and will stay frozen as there will no longer be a need to book sessions. You may see your statistics change in your app based on your activity, but they will have no impact on your access to work.
Your ‘Attendance’ and ‘Late cancellation’ statistics will continue to be based on your last 14 days worked in a booking zone, so if you begin working in a free login zone, ‘Super-peak participation’ will be the only statistic that will change.
In a free login zone, your statistics don’t affect the way you access work as you no longer need to book sessions.
If you decide to ride in another city which is not free login, your statistics will still determine what time you can book sessions within that city each Monday.
Please if you ride with the P2P status make sure you inform the team at least 4 working days in advance whenever you want to ride in another city. Find more info here.
Riders tell us that this flexibility is the most important part of riding with Deliveroo, so we’re introducing more ways to improve that. Free login gives you the freedom to work whenever you want, with no need to book sessions in advance. That means you can work on your own schedule with no need to maintain statistics or worry about having to cancel at the last minute.
To ride in a free login zone all you need to do is open the app when you’re inside the zone and go online.
In free login zones you can go online and start accepting orders whenever you want to work, without booking in advance. That means that your statistics don’t impact when you can work in free login cities.

When you open the app you’ll be able to see how busy your zone is – you can use this to decide whether to log in or not. We only onboard new riders when there aren’t enough riders in a city throughout the whole day to make sure that orders are delivered to customers on time.
From February 28th LIC/GNT/CRL will become free login – that means you don’t need to book sessions in advance to ride. You can still work the hours you booked – just go online whenever you want to start receiving orders.
We will invest in self-employed earnings in the form of fee boosts. These fee boosts will be communicated by SMS and will allow you to earn more for each completed order.
Fee boosts will also be visible in the app Planner.
