We’re expanding our services by introducing new vehicle types

Following extensive review and consideration, and taking your feedback into account, in the coming days we will open up our delivery service to new rider vehicle types such as certain types of e-scooter and scooters.

This means that we extend the opportunity to work with Deliveroo to a new group and reach more customers.

All riders who will deliver on those new vehicle types will be covered by the insurance provided by Qover.

Why are we introducing these new vehicle types?

As you know, we’re committed to providing the best quality and most consistent delivery service available.

By introducing these new vehicle types we are always looking at how to improve the delivery experience for riders, for restaurants and for customers.

What does this mean for riders on bicycles?

As you know orders will always be assigned in the most efficient way. There are several parameters that are taken into account such as distance to the restaurant and client.

From past experience in the UK and the Netherlands, we know the majority of our riders in Belgium will continue to be cyclists. We foresee that the amount of orders you will have access to will keep on growing and that earnings will not be impacted by this change. However, we will be closely monitoring the impact of this change and how it works for riders, restaurants and customers.

I want to ride on an e-scooter or scooter. What should I do?

If you are not a rider yet want to ride on an e-scooter or scooter, it’s really important that you first sign the correct contract by choosing the correct vehicle type.

If you are currently a rider and you want to start riding on an e-scooter or scooter you just need fill in the form below to adapt your vehicle type. Afterwards you’ll receive more information on how to start riding.

Important note : Some restaurants are located in areas where scooters can not drive such as pedestrian zones. Please take this into account if you want to place orders with a scooter. All riders are required to follow the road code. Non-compliance with the road code can result in fines for which Deliveroo can not be held responsible.

For more questions you can read the FAQ page below or contact us.
